i was walking down the sidewalk the other day in downtown silver spring when suddenly i heard a large thump across the street. i looked over to see a milk carton skidding over the road, and with amazement i watched as an explosion of glitter fell slowly to the sidewalk from a few yards in the air. the people standing below this explosion looked just as bewildered as i was. i looked up to the parking garage that was above the sidewalk but i could see no person standing up there, looking down with mischief or a smile. it was over in a matter of seconds and people just kept on walking, but it was beautiful.
i think it is time to start following in this anonymous benefactor's example. let's write song lyrics on the bathroom stalls of sterile office buildings, leave flowers on the counters of boring stores when the clerks aren't looking, and drop balloons from overpasses. are you in?
